Unfortunately this is only my 2nd full boil recipe (and only the 2nd time I've been able to use it) the first time I blasted the juice through in <5minutes and ended up with about 40oc. This time I had problems with a blockage in the tap on the boiler and after a trickle for 1/2 an hour got impatient and blasted most of the wort through again in a couple of minutes.

vossy - my last brew got the 5gal of water to ~50oc and the water was leaving the therminator at a dramatic 78oc :) this time 5gal was left at more like 40oc. I had the pump around anyway so I just though it's worth a go.

Hallo Jeremy & thanks :) your website was certainly an early catalyst for my interest in the hobby.

Now I've finally made the step to all grain your award winning Dark & Roasty Stout looks like the next on the "to brew" list 8)

All you dog owners have to do now is strap one of these round their necks a la St Bernard and you laughing. No search for distant pubs whilst out on the fells :D

 Oh dear - the first all grain has had a few weeks in the fermentors, over a week pressurised and conditioning and it's not looking good. I probably should have kept more of an eye on it but now I find large amounts of suspended particles which I presume is that cold break gunk. I hoped I had left most of this behind when I racked into the 2ndary. The body, colour and the flavour are weak although the brew is definately alcoholic :(

Will add some finings and hope for the best

My final gravity was 1.0467
I did alter the recipe a bit reducing the marris otter by 200g and increasing the maize and a bit of crystal.

really not sure.
