Another brew so soon

Post by PieOPah » Mon Nov 20, 2006 10:43 am

Providing I can get myself grain, I should be making another beer fairly soon. The wife is away on her course again next week. This gives me time to brew again. The only problem is getting a delivery as there is nobody around to collect it!!! If I can get enough from my LHBS then I should be good.

Anyway, I want a Winter Brew. What do you guys make of this?

Looks awesome PoP. Out of interest, is the 30 minute boil for the spices BeerTools choice or yours?

PoP, looks like an interesting brew. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I have never ventured into brewing with spices but Jacobite Ale from Traquair uses corriander seed along with East Kent Goldings. It a cracking example of a strong well flavoured ale so I will have to try something similar down the line.

that looks good! i'd be interested as to how the nutmeg flavours come through. its quite a strong flavour, but i can't really think how much 1/2 a tesspoon actually is.

i take it that you use beertools pro? i'm thinking of asking the SWMBO to buy me it for christmas! :D

I chose the timings. Never sure how long to do things so thought 30 minutes would be a good medium. Also, no idea how much of things so the amount is an experiment. I guess I should really look up a few other recipes and see how much others use in general....

5 minutes seems a popular choice - think I will go with that!
