best kept grains

just sent for some pale malt ,enough to last 4-5 months i plan to keep them in a sealed fermenting bin are they best kept cool or in a warm place. i have a fish room that never drops below 22*c would this be to warm?.

May be better if you could get it in a place several degrees lower but I shouldn't think this would be a problem as long as moisture doesn't get to it.

As soon as I get a new 25Kg sack of malt I distribute it in those zip-seal plastic bags,and weigh them to hold 2 and 3Kg. Then I bung all the bags back into the original sack and stuff it under the stairs. 25Kg lasts me 5-6 months and the last brew is as good as the first. Also convenient to have pre-weighed bags to hand...

cheers bunged all mine in brewing bins with the lids on .mine came in three kilo bags so no need to open till ready.but thats a good idea if i send for a 25k bag

Try using a brand new heavy duty plastic dustbin for storing my grain,they are ideal,a 25 kg sack fits in just right with space above for smaller bags of other grain.Mine is kept in the garage so is remains cool and dry.
