will bitterness fade?
morning!
seveneer you were right about the lack of hangover, this stuff just gets better!
i was confronted with a table full of drying cd's , the distinct whiff of beer and a rather stroppy other half though. but more importantly the plan worked adn the barrel is now not dripping.
i will have to put another post up to see how i can prevent this reoccuring not that i mind the drinking part but ive already been divorced once and dont intend to go through that again .
thanks for your support through what could have been a deeply traumatic time anyway
cheers

Colin, what type of barrel do you have? Which part of the tap was the leak coming from? Was it out of the tap or from around the seal?
I have a budget barrel with a lever tap and was extremely dismayed to find that it was losing almost a pint a day (lucky for me I had a drip tray). Eventually I discovered that the problem was that I was closing the tap too much.... This meant that there was a tiny space for the beer to get out. The lever needs to be at about 45 degrees to fully seal the hole on the tap.
