Brewday 18/02/07 Coal Seam

Post by subsub » Sun Feb 18, 2007 7:52 pm

Decided to get up early and brew the Ollosson recipe today. I didn't deviate from the original as I've not had the pleasure of tasting it. Everything went according to plan apart from breaking my £700 camera while getting it out of the car, hence no pictures

I've got some of that Scottish Heavy to cry into. Might make it taste better as my brother brewed it for me and it tastes shite :D

Yes Daab, I'm covered and have already put in a claim. Doesn't stop me being in the Doghouse though

As bd said it would be great to see the recipe :)
Look on the bright side though, you could take the insurance money spend £350 on an adequate camera and spend the rest on brewing shinyness

What a good plan! A £350 camera will take damn fine photos as well...plus you've got a load of new brewing kit to photograph with it.

Don't have a cat in hells chance of getting a cheaper camera, it was a present from the Father in law and that's why I'm in the Dog House

Recipe as follows:

OG 1060
Mash Liqour 17l Temp 66c
Mash Time 2hrs
Bittering Units 42
Boil Time 2hrs

Pale Malt 4610g
Crystal Malt 2025g
Black Malt 140g
Roast Barley 210g

Challenger 85g Start of boil
Fuggles 17g Last 15 mins
Irish Moss 5g Last 15 mins

The recipe didn't specify a yeast to use so I went with WLP002.

Final Volume 23L :( :( :(
