I brewed an Aventinus clone 2 weeks ago. Its still sat in the fermenters. I had to use two because wy3638 gives an enormous yeast head so I needed plenty of headspace. I'm bottling the whole batch this weekend (or next if I'm feeling lazy).
I got terrible efficiency (60%) and used too much water. I had to boil for over two hours to get the correct OG. It has fermented well and I'm looking forward to trying it once it is ready. Which supermarkets usually stock it?

Dropped this to secondary earlier today with a SG of 1.013
On looking at the sample taken I feel this is too pale for a Dark Wheat Beer so will have to think about how to darken it forn the next attempt.
Initial thoughts are to change ALL the wheat to dark, or else use Black Patent instead of Chocolate (and increase the quantity used)

Sainsbury's during the Winter, Safeway used to, and I think Waitrose do too. Oddbins would have had it but I think their beer range has got worse of late.tribs wrote:I brewed an Aventinus clone 2 weeks ago. Its still sat in the fermenters.
