done my first allgrain today

but instead of hitting 1040 i hit 1050 do i just top up with water till i get 1040 thanks dave

the reading of 1050 is at my target volume 5 gals so i thought more water would bring the og down to 1040 .If i leave it its should just make my beer stronger is that right because theres more sugar in my wort? thanks dave
