I'm brewing another Hefe tonight. This one is going to be for the Scottish Real Ale Festival next month. So, if anyone is in Edinburgh on the 3rd weekend in June you can give it a try.

21 litres
============
2.7kg Pale Malt
2.7kg Wheat Malt

20IBU of Hallertau

Bruferm Blanche Yeast

All doughed in at 66c half an hour ago. 8)

All done and left to cool down overnight. 8)

I have even managed to clean everything so my conscience is clear. Now for the important business of having a couple of homebrews and reflecting on a job well done and planning the next one (I really fancy a go at an Amerillo IPA). :D

Could you use Wheatabix? I have heard people say that you would be much better off eating the box? :shock:

Actually, despite what I said in a reply last week, I didn't. I had a pretty good crush on the grain so there wasn't much flour (Barley Crusher default setting)
What would you say is the coarse/husk percentage for the Barley crusher default Steve :?:

I'm at it again. I was thinking about an IPA but when SWMBO requested another Hefe, well, how could I refuse. :roll:

23l
==
3kg Pale Malt
3kg Wheat Malt

35g of Hallertau @ 2.5% AA - Start of Boil

15g of Hallertau @ 2.5% AA - last 15

Bruferm Blanche

I usually get around 70% efficiency for a Hefe so I will aim for OG of 1055. This should give me an ABV of around 5.3%.

All doughed in at 8am so will begin run off and batch sparging at 9:30am.

Dunno. Look less floury than some precrushed I've seen though.
