Hi AT from what I can recall reading this shouldn't be a problem, i have had beer fermenting for 2 weeks and they have been fine, can you take a gravity reading to see how it's getting on?

No Wez i have it in a big ass fermenter with a small 4 inch top and i've no trial jar, if i did put it inside the fermenter i wouldn't see the reading. All my brews finished after about 4 to 5 days that's why i'm worried. I was gonna keg tomorrow  I'll try taking a reading

Tried taking a reading but i couldn't see it properly but it's fairly low 1014-1010 maybe. Still a fair few bubbles on the surface but it smells fine so i'm probably worried about nothing. I am fermenting in a different place due to the hot weather so that's probably why it's slower. It's in a press that's right on the gable end of the house which is the coolest place in the house, i didn't check the temp

yea it was in the keg two weeks yesterday and it's head and shoulders over everything i've made so far. I'm over the moon with it, it's very clear compared to my previous brews but still a bit hazy and i fear i'm about to get obsessed with making clear beer :)
Also i'm mad to try dry hopping :=P . Swimbo is going away next Tuesday so a brew day is on the cards
