Then I stick my wort chiller in the HLT and recirculate the water in the mash tun till it gets up to the temp I need and chuck in the grain.
Its quick to raise the temp a few degrees if you're too cold.
If you have a pump then maybe you could do the same?
Let the mash settle for 10mins and stick the pump back on and you can HERMs your way to clear wort too
