Post by Reaper » Fri Jul 27, 2007 7:02 pm

Hi All
It a little late I know but Im putting a brew tonight for a mate of mine who is a big TTL fan. Its pinched from one of you lot and tweaked a little. The water is on for the mash, any last min comments before I get started.

4kg Marris Otter
100g Torrified Wheat

38g Stryrian Golding 2%AA 90min boil
38g Fuggles 3.6%AA 90min boil
30g EKG 4.2%AA last min

IBU 26
ABV 4.5%
OG 1045

Regards Paul

26 IBU looks a little low to me. I'm no TTL expert but I'd have thought 35 would be more like it. At 26 you run the risk of ending up with a TTL inspired mild

I've just checked BYORRAH and it has 35 IBU for TTL.

Are you sure about using Styrians only as the bittering hop? I thought TTL was supposed to have Styrian flavour and aroma character...you ain't going to get that by using them as copper hops. I'd have switched the hop schedule around and used Fuggles or EKG's for bittering and finished off with the Styrians.

My point is there's no Styrians late, or steep, or dry.

I think ill see how it tastes as it goes into secondary and may be add some more styrian then.
