There is a misconception which came through a lot of older books on winemaking and brewing that the ferment must be kept WARM...
I've got the fermenter in the spare room and the immersion heater set to 20°c, so obviously any wort temp above that and it switches off. Now my house isn't the warmest of places, so I doubt room temp gets above 20°. Maybe I should be setting the therm for 18°c in future, or based on room temp readings at the coldest part of the day/night, not include it at all...
