The huge great pot of boiling wort can't help matters either. It looks like you've pretty much got it in the bag now

Looks like a brew.
I do love a good brew night - I usually get SWMBO to turn the boiler on as I leave the office. That way I can get all doughed for before 5pm. Infact I might do one tomorrow.

nice pics, hope it all goes to plan. Have to say i wouldn't have the get up and go to brew on a Monday except on a bank holiday

I now have 25 litres of water in the HLT and SWMBO is going to switch on after the school run. Hope my brew goes as smooth as your own.

ive got the yeast starter going
and the cooler ..
im very impressed actually cos she walked into the kitchen and said "oh youre going to be ages yet youve got the cool it down and put the yeast in " shes learning !

i know ,but if i didnt do it in the evenings i'd never get any done plus theres no kids running around i spose

although i was a little worried at how quickly teh foam was subsiding

usually its been a little thicker and longer lasting than that . paranoia is setting in already

Good stuff. I always worry after I pitch the yeast but it always comes good in the end. Its amazing how quickly the yeast take charge of the situation and don't let the baddies get a foot hold.

oh just gervin dried yeast, ive tried the liquid ones and to be honest I like this one best for bitters and ales.

paranoia over , just checked the brew and theres a lovely thick yeast crust on it
