I added the grain to my mash tun,a fermenting bucket with grainbag

then I stabilised thetemp and wrapped it up for90 mins

I ran off the wort,I collected 27 litres which I thought was ok although the sg was high

I sparged like this after seeing another forum member using a similar method

goldings hops ready to go into the boiler

I got a nice boil going

The false bottom works a treat

the wort ran off nice and clear

And i cooled it in the bath !!

og looked ok

so I pitched the yeast..job done

Sat here enjoying a wriggler after wrestling radiators for 2 hrs

I suppose you'll be doing the nursery now, never mind I'm sure the littlun will like it! Aside from a baby do you know what you're having?Wez wrote:Soon..... up to me pits in DImother4kinYJ_P wrote:I guess "Tuesday" isn't a good enough reason for some folks! How is the honey beer? I quite like some of the commercially available honey beers and fancy trying making some in the future if your experiences are favourable

Sorry for the threadjack here FJ
Yeah sorry about the thread-jack
Working on the nursery this week, getting it ready for being plastered at the weekend, then there is loads to do after that!
Currently my day consists of, work at 8am home at 6pm work on the room until 8pm, eat then log onto Jims and VPN into work and do a bit of both!
Nah, we're old fashioned and don't know if it's a girl or a boy 'ronnie wriggler' we can wait until the day (we have been tempted though!)
Honey beer is great, read the thread about when to ad the honey i'm happy with how it turned out, I think priming with honey is a good idea!
Glad to see you're keeping your brew-every-weekend regime up!
Right i've got a folder with 150 invoices which need signing off
