I let it drain from the boilers which in on a chair into the fermentor for normal beer, but bigger one I will use an aeration stone.

Same here really + dropping the wort from the boiler on a chair, but I find Led Zeppelin Immigrant song gets you in the paddling mood much better.

I use the dropping technique in conjunction with an aeration stone that I have hooked up to an O2 cylinder.....I also aerate my starters....

Wow, Impressive head :D

Don't know what your problem is Rob. Running my O2 in at 2 or 4L per minute will produce a silly amount of foam, but 1ml of FD20P mixed into 50ml of tepid water, and added to the FV gets rid of it. In fact what I normally do is allow the foam to build to within a couple of inches of the top of the FV, then add the FD20P, and close the lid, as the bubbles burst the FV becomes full of Pure O2.

Might be i had it running at to high a pressure? it's not that it had loads of foam it's the foam was forming into a crust. Seems to help a lot if i beat it back with a stainless spoon Mr flack uses a mini compressor he might have the answer
