Seriously though

When I rack to secondary I add CO2 to 40 psi, maintaining ti'll tapped when I reduce to 20 psi.

The reason for 20 psi is that I use the tap flow controller to control the beer flow as I can't be bothered hooking up the cylinder twice a night

This is pure lazyness as I have a unused gas management board in a box next to the corny's

I suppose we'll let you off.

I checked the gravity of the barefoot bitter today it's 1013, more importantly I sampled the trial jar 8) it was still pretty green (as you'd expect after 4 days in primary) but it's really clear and good and bitter but lighter than I expected. I'm expecting good things from it!

Oh and it certainly doesn't taste home brewed

It's one of those things that is easier to do than it appears and it's certainly easier to do than it is to describe! I hope my copy of Mac Ollossens book arrives before the weekend.

We used to get Fawcetts MO here in Aus until approx 2 years ago & never had a problem with haze issues - now we only get Bairds MO & this throws haze from slight to muddy river water, depending on the sack.
I now use koppafloc as my kettle fining agent & polyclar post ferment - not had a hazy beer since... that's approx 100 brews...

cheers Ross

The base malt I use is Fawcett MO The last 4 brews i have used CRS in the mash and it looks like the haze problem might be cured (pray pray) this w/end tho i'll be trying to kick it's hazy ass!

Using CRS
Using whirlfloc
Using s-04
Leaving the chilled wort for 2 hours then racking into another FV off the settled 'break'
Withe 'DaaB's flying starter I'm hoping for a nice clean yeast head a few hours after pitching!

The clean yeast head is down to the trub that gets carried over, if anything a crusty yeast head is good, as it gives you an opportunity to remove it.

Ross, Polyclar is being sold by a certain homebrew shop here on the basis of removing chill hazes, it's pretty expensive over here iirc, comparatively speaking, how does it compare where you are to other finings such as issinglass?
Not sure how it compares to be honest on price. But works out at approx UK 21 pence to clear a typical 23L batch if you purchased from me & that includes air postage to UK - delivery 4 to 5 days. Sorry for the shameless plug there, but I don't think people realise how cheaply & quickly we can supply overseas.

cheers Ross
