Hi chaps (and chapesses) just thinking of what i'm going to do for my next (second) ag brew.
I have torrified wheat and some crystal left over from my last attempt so I would like to use those in the next one before they go off.
I was thinking of something a lot darker colour/flavour than the last one with a strong hop character. I also have goldings, saaz, hallertau, and cascade hops in the freezer to add if needed.
I like black sheep (a version of which I made for my first attempt) so something along those lines would be nice. Maybe twice as much crystal as last time (see previous post for ingredients - crystal = 270g).
I'd like to get it started tomorrow (the kids are at school) but I doubt it'll happen as I need to do other things...Maybe saturday.
Anyway, ideas please.
Ta.
So, what should I do next?
Cheers for that Daab.
Just remembered, I was in the Grand (micro brewery over the road from me in Bishop Auckland) on Saturday celebrating my sons 2nd Bday and the pint I had in there was called Hamsterly Ale. It was heavily hopped with a very grassy flavour, slightly spicey, maybe lemon? Any ideas what hop it was? From my blurry memory I think I got talking to the brewer (can't remember his name) and iirc he said it was hallertau? He also said it had lots of Crystal in it too. But then again, I could well have imagined the whole conversation....

Maybe DaaB, as I said, it was a very blurry day.
Will have a look online for Hamsterly Ale and see what I get.
Edit - Found this - http://www.wear-valley-brewery.co.uk/RegularBeers.html It's called Hamsterley Ale, no mention of hops so i've emailed them.
