Wez used the above recipe for his Gold, I think it was 25L.Settled on this recipie:
5100.00 gm Pale Malt (2 Row) UK (5.9 EBC) Grain 100.0 %
34.00 gm Fuggles [4.90%] (90 min) Hops 16.6 IBU
23.00 gm Challenger [6.80%] (90 min) Hops 15.6 IBU
35.00 gm Styrian Goldings [2.00%] (90 min) Hops 7.0 IBU
35.00 gm Styrian Goldings [2.00%] (15 min) Hops 3.2 IBU
1.00 tsp Irish Moss (Boil 15.0 min) Misc
Est Original Gravity: 1.045 SG
Est Bitterness: 42.3 IBU
What do you think EBU too high?
WhatI would like to know is: I have some old Goldings in my freezer. they were not always kept in such a wonderful condition as they spent many a month just sitting in my cupboard. So I imagine they have alost quite a bit of AA strength. So is it possible to use them as a replacement for the Styrians in the recipe, or do the Styrians add something different?
Also can I use Bodacea instead of Challnger,as i think i read they can be seen as a replacement.
Also, what yeast should I use?
So I'm going to go off my chosen path of single hop brews for this one, as my 3rd AG, cos tis a wunnerful pint

then I will continue with my experiments [laughs in a mad scientist/Marty feldman in yopung Frankenstein kinda way
