Hi all,
Just thought I'd share my child-like glee with you. SWMBO has said I can order a Crankandstein for my Christmas pressie.... now the only thing I need to decide is should I go for the super basic 2 roller (2S) or a slightly more ellaborate 2 roller one (with the special adjustment thingies)....any advice?
In the words of Hannibal, I love it when a plan comes together.
My first AG brew day is going to be a big adventure:
First use of a grain mill (or any kind)
First Mash in my yet-to-be-built coolbox mash tun
First boil in my yet-to-arrive-from-England boiler
First use of my partially-constructed immersion chiller (I've only got the copper so far but I'm an optimist so for me it's already part-built)
Blimey this brewing lark is fun, even when I've never done it I'm enjoying it..... obsession is a great thing isn't it.
Paul

Ive gone for the one with the adjustable thingies. The reason being that it is easier to ensure both rollers are parallel when adjujsting. Used it twice now and well impressed.
All I would advise is if you are making your own hopper, ensure you have agood solid piece of wood to mount it on. I used plywood but found that when securing to the base, the nuts compressed the plywood meaning the mill twisted slightly tightening on the bearings and rotation wasnt free. I have got it sorted but a good solid piece of timber would sort it.
Great mill though happy grinding

Great news! I would love a malt mill but I cant justify the expense yet. I would go for the two rollers, no point doing things in half measures, eh?
