Today I was unable to drain off my liquor, which was 24 pints plus a large Kettle full of water, which had been mashing
about 6 pounds of grain.
It appeared a fairly loose mixture, but had I left it draining, i might have had a boil by Christams - 2009.

Is the problem the ratio of water to grain, or should I ditch the hose and manufacture a copper manifold?
I resolved the issue by locating an old grain bag, into which I transferred all contents, over my fermenting bucket.
I was then able to fit the bag back into my mash tun, and continued the sparging process without any further flow problems.
Final question, will this transfer have done any harm?
