Newbie quandry / Beer storage

Post by sobrie15 » Fri May 29, 2009 9:29 am

Hi i'm gathering all the equipment together for my first ever brew , i'm jumping in at the deep end and doing a full mash brew . I'm not sure what to do with my brew after the fermentation is over , ie can it go straight into a cornelius keg or does it need to go into a king keg for a while first ? i haven't got anything at the moment so don't want to splash out on stuff i dont need . I'm sure this is the first of many questions coming your way , and i'm itching to get started , i've got some great tips off the forum so far , and saved a fortune .

Welcome to Jim's.

If you are dead set on starting with AG you might want to post under "Grain Brewing Questions and Answers" and seeing if there is a friendly AG brewer in your area. It may help if you see what is involved by following them through a day's brewing session especially if you've never made beer before.

Hi although i havent actually brewed myself i did get an insight into the process by going on a one day course held by a guy who runs CHEERS brewing shop in cheam , obviously there is loads more to learn so yes i will be scouring all the posts in the forum over the coming weeks , thanks for your help .

PS have decided to use king kegs and go from there .
