I always rehydrate my irish moss prior to use, as someone in the past told me that it works more efficiently this way
How does everybody else use copper finings

i was told that it didnt work as effectively if you didnt.
its not suprizing really. i put hot wort on mine as soon as it has come to the boil and it takes a good 45mins for the moss to go all slimey.
cant do it any harm anyhow

Sometime I hydrate it sometimes I don't. Depends on how much of a rush I'm in

I have never heard of rehydrating Irish Moss. To be honest it isn't something I have even considered.
I bung mine in 15 minutes before end of boil and forget about it.

I never hydrate it although I'm aware that you can. I just chuck it in if I remember. If I don't remember I don't lose any sleep over it.

out of interest and not meaning to hijack the thread but did you find the whirlfloc worked? i used it last brew and i got an awful haze usualy i use moss (rehydrated). i did just chuck it in dried the last time i used it and it didnt seem to make a difference.

I didn't know you could - I just chuck it in. Mind, the brew before last I accidentally ran out and didn't use any. It's as clear as any other now!

how much do you chuck in as recipies seem to differ
