Mini Mashing - a bit confused

Post by steve_1360 » Thu Mar 15, 2007 9:27 pm

I'm just about to start my first mini mash :D and i'm a bit confused with the runnings / the gravity :?:
I don't really understand what i'm doing  , i'm suppose to check the gravity on the third sparge, if above 1010 repeat(I'm assuming the 1010 figure is for 20C)
1. Am i suppose to chill a sample to 20c to check?
2. or can i adjust the figure i get by using a table/formula if i know the temperature?
3. if i can do 2, does anybody know where i can get a copyof the formula/table.
4. I'm assuming its the same at 1006?

Sorry for all the questions.

Cheers
Steve :D

I reckon you could reduce the number of sparge batches for mini-mash. Two would be pushing it to get 7 litres out but three would be easy. Whaddya reckon DaaB ?
