Morland Best

Post by Scooby » Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:21 am

As I have got most of my gear together my thoughts have turned to my first brew, it’s going to be Dave Lines version of Morland best. I’ve made some adjustments working on an efficiency of around 70%. OG 1043 25lt

4.2kg Pale malt
160 gms crystal malt
450 gms Dark brown sugar

60 gms East Kent Goldings
20 gms Fuggles
15 gms Bramling Cross

15 gms East Kent Goldings steeped for 15 mins

A couple of days before the brew day I’m going to make a yeast starter lifted from a bottle of Butts Barbus, I have some Gervin ale yeast if that is not successful.

Have I got things right to make as DL says “A lovely hop flavour blended with real expertise in this full malty brewâ€
