Whitbread - 1877 - XPS

Post by thebrewingman » Sat Jul 02, 2011 9:33 pm

Did anyone try this recipe from "Shut up about Barclay Perkins"? I didn't quite achieve the 1073 OG suggested in the recipe but having put it in a polypin on 20 June I have found the flavour changing quite dramatically. A few days ago it was strong stoutish but by today it had turned very licquorishy. Can I expect more developments?

No idea but keep us up to date. The recipe has a load of brown malt and not very much black so I wouldn't have expected it to turn liquoricey. Interesting.
