Wow thats bitter
Wow thats bitter
I wrongly put 32 grams of 14.5 % AA in my last 19 litre batch of Guinness and 100grams too much of Roast Barley and it tastes like your chewing a liquorice stick whilst trying to enjoy a pint. If anyone has an idea how I could remove some of the bitterness it would be appreciated as I cant bring myself to throw away 19 litre of booze.
I've made a couple of over-hopped batches recently. I did as mysterio suggests. The first one (50 litre) I brewed another underhopped batch and blended them. The second I just left to mature (an Amarillo Ale with about 46 IBU OG 1.040) for two months instead of one. This one worked very well; from being overly bitter at a month it became flavour-packed at two - if you can bear to leave it for a while it should fix itself.

My OG was 1.043 in 19 litres. I was going to sell one of my King Kegs but following the advise above I am going to rack it into one of these and hide it in the corner of the office for a few months under a blanket of CO2. I just cant pour it away, I would cry. My dad on the other hand loves it but he couldnt drink a full pint
