Brewing today

Post by Mashman » Sun Jun 03, 2007 9:47 am

Mash under way and topping uo the HLT when I remembered I hadn't added the campden tablet to the Mash Liquor :x . I open the MT and stirrd in the crushed tablet. Am I right in thimnking it's the acid in the hops which gives the TCP taint so I should be OK?

What I meant was the alpha acid reacts with the chlorine to give the TCP taste. So adding the campden before any hops are added I should be ok. Any comments.

You're halfway there MM might as well carry on

I do have really stinky chlorinated water so if I was in your situ I'd have had to throw the lot
