Post by MrD » Sat Jun 16, 2007 9:03 pm

Thought I would try Dave Lines Morland Mild Ale - page 103

Started this afternoon, now on final 1/2 hour of boil.

Photos below of start of boil and rolling boil with hops.

Can anyone offer any help to insert photos?

That's ironic! I just brewed this yesterday! Was a bit under gravity..

Yes, I agree, I topped up to just 20 litres to give the correct gravity of 1033.

Quite a simple recipe to follow.

It smells and looks good - quite dark.

I've added the yeast and crossed my fingers!!

How's yours going by now? Mine's going absolutely ballistic. Will probably rack to a corny on saturday with finings etc.

Fermentation is galloping away...... :D

I have a good feeling about this one, I think it will the best yet.

Only my 3rd AG!

From what I hear it should be ready for drinking quite quickly.

Let me know what FG your brew ends up at.

My fermentor activity has completely stopped, and the FG is 1010~

I had a taste, and it was very weak, i'm afraid.
My efficiency was awful, i think because i cocked up the mash temp with a broken digital thermometer.

Yeah, i thought i was on to a non starter myself. Probably going to have to drain it.

My Morland Mild has been in a Polypin for some months and has been great.

Good pressure and a good head - as we like it in Yorkshire!

However, it has been sat in the garage for a month untouched, I've just tried a pint and its flat as fa*t.

Do you think if I put it in a warmer place it might get some sparkle back?
