Organic Malt?

Get advice on making beer from raw ingredients (malt, hops, water and yeast)

Organic Malt?

Hi, im planning getting mlt from the local brewery but there organic and can only supple organic malt. Does this make any difference to the brew? I dont think it will but im best to check.

It shouldn't make any difference, I've mixed and matched marris otter with an organic pale malt plenty of times and never noticed an differences.

My local micro detests organic malt with a passion. Apparently he suffers significantly decreased mash efficiency with it, and states it is "bloody expensive".

I'm not sure, he gave me his last half sack of Crystal Organic, but I've only used it in one brew, and it seemed ok to me, though I've bugger all experience to compare it to.

If you are buying from a micro it will still be a lot cheaper than home-brew shops i would imagine

Cheers for all the replies! Im getting a 25kg bag for £15 so i think ill give it a try and see how i get on! The brewer recons theres no differene in organic!
