Well, normally I know days in advance when I am going to brew. I would have everything prepared the day before.
When I woke up this morning I had no idea I was going to brew. About 15 minutes ago I found myself in the shed pulling out my gear ready to brew.
So, now that the mash water is heating up, I had best have a look to see what grains and hops I have in stock and formulate a recipe of some kind!!!
Will let you know what I brew once I have decided

Have a good one
I often decide to brew at the last minute, and these brews are always the most enjoyable

... erm, I've never used Target hops but aren't they pretty much exclusively a bittering hop?

My software has them as all 3. Thought I would use em as I have them and never tried before!
Mash water is up to strike temp (I think). Spent the last 10 minutes hunting down my thermometer!!!!

Personally I don't like target. YMMV.

I don't want to disuade you from experimenting (not that I could anyway

) but this is what the charles Faram website says about Target:
An excellent high alpha variety which gives bitterness at a very competitive price. Tends to be too harsh for aroma purposes late in the boil but has produced very good results when used as dry hop pellets in the cask.
As I say, I've not used them so take my interjection with a pinch of salt

Hey, not a problem

I wouldn't want to risk my beer, thanks.
Will have a look through my supplies and find an alternate for aroma and flavour
Edit: I think Cascade will do

New Hop Schedule is

15 g Cascade (4.8%) - added during boil, boiled 30 min
15 g Cascade (4.8%) - added during boil, boiled 15 min
10 g Cascade (4.8%) - added during boil, boiled 0 min
which will give me 45.43 IBU's

Hi PoP are those AA %s for the cascades from whole leaf gold packed cascades from H&G.
I was looking at a cracking brew i'd done a while ago to see what IBUs etc i'd used and of course i didn't write down the AA % for the cascades but i do know they were the gold packaged hops.
