Longer ferment or keg without gas?

Post by Chappie519 » Fri Aug 03, 2007 11:10 am

Hi, i have a small delay with getting my bottle of gas for my cornie but i should get it mid next week. My question is what should i do with my brew just now? Its been in the fermenter for 8 days now, should i leave it longer and wait for my gas or can i put it in the cornie with out gas?

Cheers

What about natural priming?

And use the gas cylinder to serve

I'd leave it in the fermenter cause if you prime the keg you'll be feeding the yeast adding to the time it will take to clear your beer

You can drop the yeast out by placing the keg in a plastic bin with some ice water leave for a few hours, draw off a few pints and it clean

Cheers lads, had thought of priming it but wasnt sure about sediment. Might leave it in fermenter untill monday then transfer to cornie. Its in a fridge so it shouldnt get infected in there!

I was wondering about the same thing.
Due to my condition i cant move the 50lts of Wherry III in primary.

Its just that i normally leave in primary for 7days max then another 7-10 in secondary. Just worried with fermenting temp now that summer seems to have arrived.
