Simple question to all you experienced brewers, how do you make torrified wheat. cheers

It's like popcorn. You heat wheat and it pops. I'm sure there's a lot more to it than that but at a basic level that's it.

Is any reason why it preferred over flaked wheat

I've recently been using shredded wheat as a subsitute for torrefied wheat without any problems. Previously I used wheat flakes until my local health food store stopped stocking it.

Is there additional sugar and salt in that?

There's definitely no sugar or salt in shredded wheat; as the label says 100% whole wheat.
