Polypins

Post by Brog » Tue May 17, 2016 5:24 pm

Done two polypins , one success other down drain!
After fermentation is complete, is it better to prime and condition in second fermenter before racking to polypin, or straight to polypin after priming and condition in polypin?
Many thanks, Brog

I always go straight from the FV to polypin, condition then drink.

A bit late with this, but I always use a secondary fermenter (no matter what it's going into finally). Once in the polypin I expel as much air as possible then give a quick squirt with CO2 to remove any remaining oxygen. I don't bother priming if it's in a polypin.

I rack straight from primary, after crash cooling in my fermentation cupboard (aka old fridge), into polypin. When I want to drink it, I bring it into the warm and condition it - ready to drink in a couple of days.
In short, do what works for you.
