I've seen it in a bag in a homebrew shop, asked the guy and he said, it's all the all you have to do is mash the grain and the boil the wort... I thought wtf..and that's it. I to would like to know the benefits of mash hops. I understand first wort hops and it works nicely..
Cheers

Not done it but those that have suggest it's a waste of hops.

I found this article about it https://beerandbrewing.com/dictionary/n ... h-hopping/.

Can't say I'd bother myself though, as hopping during the boil works just fine for me.

Lee1, I think we are on the same page.

It was like a bag of crushed grain and all these like flakes of hops in, I asked about the bag (the bag had a name like bills big ale) the guy replied all you do is mash the grain @65/66c drain and boil wort, or if you do brewin baggy type thing. Mash pull bag out and boil. I said what no hops and he said its all in the bag....umm just like wtf...so
I said ahh,,,ookay, and when onto somthing else.

Anyhoo, that's what happend, never ever gonna try it...

Good read on the link wolfenrock, it explains it better than the guy in the shop did.

I too have heard mashing hops is a waste. What are you hoping to achieve? If it's to simplify the process, try FWH.
