What did you specifically ask them ? do you have email address you used ?

Want to get sorted also :D
I just used the online contact and asked them if it was permissable to use an emersion cooler connected to a garden hose for home brewed beer. I didn't actually request an exemption they just gave me one

Cheers. Tom
Contacted them on the online help and they have directed me to an online form to fill in, is this what you did ?

There's no hosepipe ban here and the moment (as far as I know).
Not drained Kielder yet! Seriously though I didn’t move to the North East years ago to boil in my own skin in blazing heat, it’s just not right!

I managed to find the online form but don't recall exactly where it was but, yes, that's the way I asked them the question

Used the United Utilities online form and got a reply within a few hours, although there's a typo in their reply and I'm now exempt from the ban and can use my 'cooling cool'.

Hmm, interesting this. What about chilling your wort, then using the warm water from your water butt (or whatever), THEN washing the car?
I probably wouldn't bother asking as I use pretty much all the water left over for washing my gear after a brew, although there usually is some left over. I put the last batch into a clean FV, sealed it ready for use later.
