This is why i always wanted to mix the spent grains into a well established compost pile, where there is a lot of fermentation going on already. That way your spent grain is gobbled up by microflora rather than small mammals.

I did used to put it on the compost, but i just got more mice... even trotting across the garden! Mice love my place so I'm afraid it all goes in the bin now.
