Winter warmer beer additions

Post by timtoos » Sun Sep 20, 2020 8:34 pm

Hi all,

I recently made Greg Hughes's winter warmer beer. My OG was a little higher than his and I've ended up with a 6.7% beer. It currently sat in FV, cold conditioning.

Its a nice taste but wondered what additions could be added at the stage to give it a more of a 'winter feeling'. I was toying with the idea of adding cherry extract but I've never added late additions (apart from dry hop) before.

What your thoughts?

TIA

timtoos,
Just add everything that you use to make a Christmas cake.
Very nice too! :D

Leave out the Lucky sixpences. (If you know what a sixpence is). Oooooh, I sound so old! #-o

Unusual, but a dark Rum Xmas Ale sounds good WA!! Not keen on the mixed spice in Xmas cake personally. 😊
