Meaty,
Have you got Hops that can talk?
Bloody clever Mun! :D

Well I do find myself talking to a lot of inaminate objects after a few pints - including hops and wife!

Hi, my 100th brew was this:
Cheers Charlie

I was actually in on this when trying to find something to use up last years crop of Cascade but think I didn't follow it through.

I'm just fermenting out a simple bitter with Cascade just to get a feel for bittering levels so yours is defo back in the frame. As you said, 35C seems uncomfortably high but obviously seems to have worked for you.

Did you ever decide on your 100th brew?

I’ve just committed my 97th AG to the fermenter (25L of an Orval clone based on the recipe in Brew Like a Monk) and realised that I’m only a few brews away from my 100th.

My next beer is going to be an Impy Stout largely using an AG kit from CML which was a prize from a recent competition win.

I’ve a couple of other brews planned for Feb and March next year, but between then I need to decide on my 100th beer.

Suggestions welcome. A lager might not be a bad idea as it would probably then be ready for drinking in time to send to the LAB Lager than Life competition too.

Come on folk, what do you all think?
Fermenting: Sunshine Marmalade
Conditioning: Festbier, Helles Bock
Drinking: Smoky, lager beer, Irish Export Stout, Hazelweiss 2023:2, Cascade APA (homegrown hops), Orval clone, Impy stout, Duvel clone, Conestoga (American Barley wine)
Planning: Kozel dark (ish), Simmonds Bitter, and more!

Cobnut, something using centennial hops for your 100 up would be appropriate.

Or perhaps a re-brew of my recent Brut IPA with an emphasis on Centennial?

I entered it into the BrewCon World Series this year and the judges very kindly scored it 45/50 which got me a Gold medal :D

I used Mosaic, Citra and Amarillo, including some of this "Incognito" hop extract for Whirlpool hops.

I'm also interested to try the Bart Haas "Spectrum" hop extract stuff which is an alternative to Dry Hopping which I've had mixed results with; the idea of being able to add some "goo" to give me a big dry hop flavour without the flavour variability, the loss of beer due to uptake into the hops and the potential for hop particles floating in the finished beer does have attractions.

Certainly the Incognito stuff seems to work well.
