Malternatives

Post by benchharp » Sat Mar 27, 2021 6:21 pm

Have an Amercian Recipe that i'm looking to do - i'm struggling to find a couple of the malts, wondering if soemone can confirm if my alternatives seem suitable or if they have a better suggestion. I tend to use Malt Miller for my grains.

Malts

2 lbs (16%): White Wheat - Was thinking I could use Crisp Pale Wheat Malt

8 oz (2.5%): Victory Malt - Was thinking of using Dingemans Biscuit Malt

The recipe is an Orange Creamsicle IPA using lactose, sweet orange peel and vanilla beans if that helps.

I appreciate any input.

Many thanks

Ben

Is it me or does that read like a wheat beer?

There is a chart http://greenparrotbrewing.blogspot.com/ ... chart.html which gives suggestions on malts from different maltsters.
