Hop bags

Post by MashBag » Thu May 27, 2021 11:32 am

I was looking for some supplies this morning with crossmyloof and found these.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264175189510

Hops bags... Got me thinking these could be better, more convenient, easier and cheaper than a hop spider... and less trub with pellets?

Weight your hops straight into bags - and then just toss em in as required.... bugger the spider :-)

I have checked - they are safe for boiling.

I am adding a few to my next order.

Just bought a couple myself along with some more yeast. I've been using the reusable veg bags from Lidl/Aldi but these look to be a bit better. Time will tell
Good spot MashBag 👍

Mash,
Why buy the expensive ones?
Why not buy (30p) supermarket ones as soupdragon mentioned?
270mm x 270mm, much bigger than the other ones, loads of room for the
Hops and the weights ( Dunelm glass thingys in bags ).

Mash,
Didn`t look very far did you? #-o
Small bags good for 50gr Leaf Hops,
Big bags good for 150gr Leaf Hop or combine the 2 for mega hopping.
