Doble batch

Has anyone tried brewing 50 litres or so of brew, with a 25 litre boiler, by doing the first boil, with the wort and hops (e.g. 25 litres), and then adding just boiled water to the fermenter  :D .

Well, I do extract/partial mash, where I boil about 2.5gallons, and then make up to 23L in the fermenter with cold water. Isn't that the same thing, only double?
Obviously, the wort you boil would have to be twice the concentration.

The other thing to consider is whether your mash tun would hold enough grain and water for a 50L batch.

Hi
I have just made a 50 litre all grain brew, I used a 23 litre boiler, I just doubled up everything, boiled in 23 litres of water then diluted with cold water to make 50 litres. See "my first all grain mash" under grain beers. Im just waiting for it to clear. best of luck. :beer
