if i know the extract value of my malt in L°/kg, how can i more accurately make my recipes? (and basically what is it all about...)

i need to check the points but im pretty sure its nearer 270 for this batch...

i would imagine the low pointage would be down to the poor summer...

the MO from Fawcetts is at 290.7 - a bit lower...
