primary only fermenting

If I'm just going to ferment in the primary and not bother with a secondary, should I leave it for any longer than a week? Or should I wait until the gravity gets to end point.

Also if I dry hop in the primary after the kreusen, should I do this at an particular time or should I get it in now (after a week) and botle it in a week?
