Do you think in a flat bottomed boiler (a la H&G) a 'whirlpool stirring' effect (after cooling with IC and once pitching temp had been reached so IC removed before running off), would create a concentration of hops and trub nearer the centre of the vessel? So would then a hop stopper manifold round the edge of the boiler collect clearer wort?
I wonder? Any benefit to the usual usage of a H&G set up, whereby drawing the clear wort throught the hop filter bed? A roundish manifold should be made to check.
Who knows, just a thought?
Drunken ramblings, sorry, if anyone questionned my commitment though.
