Anybody got any idea what you can use to insulate the outside of a coolbox. ss

Surely the point of a coolbox is that it's already insulated?

Treat yourself to a new duvet and smother the mash tun in the old one. :)

Wot Steve said.

Although some coolboxes don't have insulated lids. You can either throw a blanket or similar over the top or drill a few holes in the lid and inject cavity filler foam.

With my coolbox I wrapped it up in an old sleeping bag.

Mash Tun Insulation

I use a copper hot water cylinder jacket strips, held in place with bungee straps. One underneath the tun and up the sides, two more wrapped around the middle and finally one over the top. I only lose 1 degree C in a 1 and a half hour mash.

I made the bucket in a bucket mash tun and wrapped it in tin foil then a camping mat then another layer of foil and another camping mat.
