Greetings brothers,
at the moment I send my spent grains to the compost bin but was told by a neighbour that it would make a nice addition to breadmaking and would also make good chicken feed.
Is this so? If so, is it just a case of drying it in an oven?

Spent Mash Grain
My wife is a veggie, but thankfully knows how to cook chickens etc, and hasn't tried to convert me in the past fifteen years.
I've promised her a good additional compost for the vegetable garden and green house if she lets me spend some money on brewing gear. A bonus of something different for the home-made bread might just swing it.

If you want to use a little malt barley in your bread making you are better using some that hasn't been mashed as your bread will have a much better flavour. Years ago i used to take a small bag of malt barley to my work & throw a handful into my brown rolls & loafs it now comes already mixed in with there wholemeal flower
