Re: Cambridge JBK Members Meeting 16th December
That's good for me, see you all there. Will have a few brews. One from the Bishops Farewell brew off and one for the Xmas brew. The Xmas brew will not be my own, but is one I would have brewed if I had a brewery to do it in.
Will be great to see the whole gang again.
Regards
Steve

Re: Cambridge JBK Members Meeting 16th December
Alas alak, I'm being taken to Handles Messiah at the Royal Albert hall and yet again I won't be able to be there. A shame because I'd tried really hard with an all late hopped Citra brew, 30, 15, 10, 5 and 0 m additions. I did bottle some because the new cornies are not agreeing with me and depending on when the next meet up is.....

Will be good to see you Steve - I've gorra treat for you that is so far called Mild Porter. It's quite a confused brew (can you tell?) but I think you'll find it dark enough!

Who missed out on DangerMouse last year? I might let another one out of the vaults...
Cheers all,
ML.
Re: Cambridge JBK Members Meeting 16th December
Great to hear that you will be around Steve!
My Xmas brew is also dark and confused. Good portion of crystal and aromatic malt, and a pinch of brown and choc. Lightly spiced with ginger, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon and coriander over fuggles and goldings (6+%, as requested).
I've also got a brew where i've tried out some Bravo hops in a lighter "breakfast brew", slightly orangey and seasonal.

Some decent sounding beers so far
I will be there with an Evil Twin if it's ready, if not it will be Um-Bongo; the perfect breakfast beer
Not very seasonal, but I like them.

Re: Cambridge JBK Members Meeting 16th December
Some great sounding brews there guys. Looking forward to tasting them.
My Christmas brew is a winter warmer; 7% crystal and 2% chocolate malts, clover honey, golden syrup and a bit of black treacle, bittered with goldings, fuggles at the end, and spiced with a split vanilla pod, cracked allspice berries, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and coriander seeds. No ginger this year!
ABV is just over 7%.

Re: Cambridge JBK Members Meeting 16th December
Sorry chaps for not replying to say I couldn't make last night. I'm making up for it by enjoying a couple of lunchtime pints of The Deep stout in the Blue in break from crimbo shopping. Hope you had a good'un!
Cheers,
Jamie

I was just pondering the very same thing! We're expecting out first little one in May, it would be nice to have a get together before then as I feel passes out will be rather limited soon!

Re: Cambridge JBK Members Meeting 16th December
Hi Bobba, you'd be more than welcome to come along to the next meet. The meets are nothing so formal as a club, simply a bunch of homebrewers that meet up at the pub to talk beer, brewing and nonsense. So we only tend to meet when someone calls one. Last one was in December so we're about due another one, I would think.
Great news about the imminent arrival, Jamie! Good idea to get one last meeting in before the big day!

Re: Cambridge JBK Members Meeting 16th December
PM's usually go out to the regular crowd who respond with the dates they can do. Usually a Friday at 8pm, and have been meeting in the Kingston or Blue simply because they serve decent beer and pretty close to the station.Bobba wrote:Sounds excellent.
