Is there a club or organised meets in the Colchester area that anyone knows of please.
A friendly UK-based home brew forum where we talk about brewing beer from grain, extract and kits, and wine and cider making.

At the moment I only attend the Chelmsford meetings at The Orange Tree. The best way to inspire others is to invite them to sample some of the tasters brought along for comment. Also there is a lot of brewing knowledge and advice on offer.PMH0810 wrote:Am a recent member of the CBA - is anybody welcome? May well me able to clear a spot in my DIY schedule...
I believe it's near the railway station, but one of the Colchester attendees will pick up on these posts and confirm.deepinvader wrote:I'm on call the 4th but will try to make it if I don't get a call out. Is the Bricklayers on Bergholt Road?

Yes that's the one, as Stonechat say's right next to North Station.
I'll be there so hope to see you both
Hi Steve, hope you have found time for a few brews since The Orange Tree. I'm delighted with the thermobox as a mash tun that you advised me to get. Thanks for thatIlikegoodbeer wrote:I'm on call the 4th but will try to make it if I don't get a call out. Is the Bricklayers on Bergholt Road?

Aye - walk out of the station towards the roundabout, turn left and walk towards East Bergholt. If you've been on Shank's Pony longer than 10 minutes you've missed.

Good luck
Hi Mike, yep I managed to do a brew using Nethergate's yeast again, tried to go for a maltier beer, which I got, but could have done with a bit more bitterness to balance it outHi Steve, hope you have found time for a few brews since The Orange Tree. Tried that but haven't had a replyGurgeh wrote:spotted it!
good to meet some new faces there - I would ask that anyone intending to go gets in touch with Mike Rumsey, the colchester organiser, so that he can order you a lunch (£5 usually)
you'll find his e-mail on the shedbrewers site below.
