Beer Festivals or Brewery Tours - Cornwall/Devon

Post by oldskooladdict » Wed Aug 25, 2010 9:11 pm

We're planning a mini roadtrip probably focusing on Cornwall. Is there a website anywhere with a directory of beer festivals? - Both large and small - I went to one in Christchurch which had about 25-30 ales to try in a decent pub - that was wicked - it doesn't have to be anything mental big :)

Aside from festivals, are there any decent brewery tours around this area you'd recommend? - As I say, probably more Cornwall, but Devon possibly.

Looking to be around mid/late September.

Cheers!

Skinners in Truro do brewery tours as well, they also make some mighty fine beer.
If you phone a decent local brewery like Skinners they will be able to advise you of all the best local pubs and of any beer festivals that may be happening.

I’ve quaffed many a bottle of skinners now you mention it! – Both in Cornwall, and available from my local Waitrose. I looked online again at possible beer festivals but nothing was listed for the time I’m around that area. I think some of the smaller festivals might perhaps not make it online – just advertised locally, so I’ll keep my eyes peeled when I’m down there.

Cheers for the heads up 
