Bury St Edmunds Brewing Clubs?
Bury St Edmunds Brewing Clubs?
I've got back into home brewing after many years and I'm really enjoying it (the information which I've got from this forum has been a great help)
I was wondering if anyone knows of any clubs/meeting groups which happen in my part of the world?
Cheers!

Did you have any luck? I'm nr Thetford. If there aren't any clubs maybe we could start one.

The shed brewers meet in Norwich, Colchester and Ipswich. There is also a Cambridge group too.

Hi Lopytog
I was trying to send you a private message but I could't work it out!!!
I was looking at the craft brewers site and the meetings only seemed to meet quaterly and be quite far away.
Anyway maybe we could meet sometime and share some ideas and taste some brews?
If you can work out that private messenger thing maybe you could send me your email address?
I'll be away from mid week until the end of September but it would be good to hear from you.
Regards

If you find that the CBA is too far away then start your own, and affiliate it with the CBA. Then you have the best of both worlds.
Re: Bury St Edmunds Brewing Clubs?
You'd be more than welcome to come to the next Cambridge group meeting. Might be one in 2 or 3 weeks time. We normally meet in pubs that happen to be near the train station.
Drinking: Double IPA (Mr President Clone)
Drinking: London Porter (5%)
Drinking: Belgian Dubbel (8%)
Conditioning: West Coast Red (5.6%)
Conditioning: Nelson & Friends Series No.1 (Mosaic)
FV: A few spiders
Planning: Everything else!

Re: Bury St Edmunds Brewing Clubs?
Cambridge meet is an informal gathering of homebrewers that met through this forum. Very friendly and laid back bunch of people that like talking beer and other b**locks. No formal agenda or talks like the CBA, just an evening in the pub with like minded people. People bring samples of their own beer to get feedback, but it's not a requirement, though a round of drinks instead is always a well received gesture
Next meet is on the 23rd in the Cambridge Blue which is only 10 mins walk from the station. Last train back to Bury is 22:43, so it's quite doable.

I walked past "Beautiful Beers" in St Johns Street, Bury St Edmunds at the weekend & there's an advert in the window about a new home brewers club starting up in Bury. I excitedly scribbled down the details then promptly lost them (doh!) & all I can remember is that they're meeting on a Friday evening soon. I've tried Google but no luck there.
If you happen to get the details, please let me know as I won't be back in Bury for a while now.
Kegman.

Incidentally, looks like there'll be another home brewers meet in Cambridge soon-ish.

Re: Bury St Edmunds Brewing Clubs?
Hey I found the website as I was looking to get the word out to more people.
I am the guy who has been advertising the home brewers meetings at Beautiful Beers in Bury. The next one is Friday, 13 March @ 730pm. We had a decent showing last month (10) and are looking for a few more people. We are thinking it could be 15 which is fine by us. No really agenda as of yet, just looking to make a few connections and to see if the meetings turn into something.
